"Gatsby was walking back from a visit down in Branton Hill's manufacturing district on a Saturday night. A busy day's traffic had had its noisy run; and with not many folks in sight, His Honor got along without having to stop to grasp a hand, or talk; for a mayor out of City Hall is a shining mark for any politician. And so, coming to Broadway, a booming bass drum and sounds of singing, told of a small Salvation Army unit carrying on amidst Broadway's night shopping crowds. Gatsby, walking towards that group, saw a young girl, back toward him, just finishing a long, soulful oration ... "
The above passage is taken from the book "Gatsby" written by Ernest Vincent Wright in the late 1930's. [[Note: This one requires knowledge of trivia related to the english language ]]
meh there is no "E" in it.. as "e" is the most commonly used letter in the english alphabet it is highly unusual to see a paragraph of that length with no "E"... many variations of this riddle can be found with a little googling but they all start the same way:

10 is always true.

So you are lying. I think. Owie.
Correct.

There aren't many people who know that, however, and there aren't many entire paragraphs that contain no E either. Nice one tho.

Anyone else care to try the other ones? Especially

I'm thinking of 2 words that respectively mean 'job' and 'warmth' and are an anagram of each other. What are the two words?

what object has only one side and one edge?

I discussed it with my friends, we're trying to solve these riddles for fun each day.

He said nothing since he didn't have to say anything.

BTW, someone answered this earlier, where is the post?

*Loud bell rings* WRONG!

He said, "You'll sentence me to six years in prison." If it was true, then the judge would have to make it false by sentencing him to four years. If it was false, then he would have to give him six years, which would make it true. Rather than contradict his own word, the judge set the man free. Pooned. Anyone care to try the other ones ^.^

How many letters are in the alphabet? t h e a l p h a b e t = 11

A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender pulls out a shotgun and points it at him. The man says, thank you and leaves.

He had the hiccups and instead of giving him water he just scared him.
